Madea's Love, 2009. Archival Inkjet, 36"x24"

Madea’s Love explores the love of Mrs. Jefferson-Magee for her family. She expresses her love through her garden, flowers and fruit trees. The images are also a documentary of Doretha Jefferson-Magee, an 85 year old woman that lives for her passion of gardening and family.  The subjects were limited to items that were grown and nurtured by Mrs. Jefferson-Magee.

 My intent is for the viewer to feel the slow movement in the piece. But also to feel the changes that occur in our lives as we move through the journey.
